Public Speaker

Acclaimed music producer Philip Magee has helped sculpt the careers of major international acts such as Kodaline and The Script. Over the years he has used his extensive experience in the music industry and recording studio to provide insight at major music conference industry panels, technical workshops and music committees as a public speaker.

Philip is a popular industry talking head with regular appearances on national radio, as well as online media and podcasts:

Radio: RTÉ 2FM (Dave Fanning, Eoghan McDermott), Today FM (Dermot & Dave, Fergal D’Arcy), FM104 (Strawberry Alarm Clock), 98FM, Newstalk & more.

Podcasts: The 2 Johnnies, The Delve, The DFM, Being Boys to name a few.

Amid the pandemic, he has adapted to social distancing guidelines by utilising his home studio to appear remotely at a multitude of online talks and industry events.

From this industry standard setup, Philip can stream high quality audio and video sessions remotely providing the perfect backdrop for online talks and guest lectures. It provides the audience with insight into the inner-workings of a studio, technical process and workflow, serving as a behind-the-scenes look into the process of a working sound engineer.

The root of Philip’s success as a music producer lies in his innate love for collaboration, connecting with people and helping them realise their vision as an artist. Before his journey into music production, Philip had already shown a passion for education; teaching guitar and songwriting classes from a young age.

Taking questions from aspiring musicians, engineers and producers is what Philip thrives upon – he conducts his studio sessions with the belief that progres comes from open dialogue.

In addition, Philip has previous experience in A&R, music supervision, music consultancy. He’s also a steering committee member of AIM Ireland (Association of Independent Music).
